City tax increase proposals deserve harder look by commission

As has been the case every year since we’ve been a paper, the city is making the case for why it will not function properly without a significant tax increase. Without a tax increase, the city manager conveniently says that outside agencies will not receive funding. It’s good politics. Who wants to be the commissioner who votes against funding the senior center or Health Ministries?
