I felt foolish for buying chicken wire. On my family’s farm, we had rolls of it. I’d never seen anyone buy it. It sort of grew in the sheds around the place, sprouting between old cars and forgotten appliances. Any time we needed some, I’d go with a tin sheers and cut a bit. A few years later and it would be ready for harvest
