Obituary: Wallace Ray Jantz

HESSTON—Wallace Ray Jantz, 90, retired pastor, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 29, 2016, in Hesston.
He was born March 4, 1926, on the Jantz ranch in Haviland to Solomon B. Jantz and Katie (Wadel) Jantz.
Wallace married Sylvia Ruth Andres on Aug. 19, 1955, in Hesston, and she preceded him in death on Feb. 8, 2011.
He is survived by sons Jeff Jantz and wife, Teresa of Durango, Colo., and Tim Jantz and wife Melissa of Lancaster, Pa.; grandchildren Cristina Jantz, Steven Jantz, Michael Jantz and Ethan Jantz; sister Doris Diller of Hesston; and brothers Dewayne and Melvin Jantz, both of Haviland.
A memorial service will begin at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 4, at Hesston Mennonite Church, 309 S. Main St., Hesston.
Memorials may be designated to the Associated Mennonite Biblical Seminary or the Hesston College Music Department in care of the Hesston Mennonite Church. Contributions may be sent to Broadway Colonial Funeral Home, 120 E. Broadway, Newton, KS 67114.
