Summer Latchkey Program offers safe place for local youth

By Wendy Nugent, Newton Now About 20 kids attending Latchkey on Friday afternoon stood outside Sunset Elementary School, dressed in their swimming suits and anxiously awaiting a chance to jump around in spray from a Newton Fire/EMS Department fire hose. Having just returned from fire station tour, the impromptu “spray park” was the payoff and everyone looked forward to it. “I’m always excited,” Latchkeyer Ally Farmer
