Farming and Flugelhorn come together in John Allen

By Wendy Nugent Newton Now Flugel and Fleagal. Those are two words that can be used to describe, at least in part, John Allen’s life. The man’s a farmer. His farm once served as the hideout for the Fleagal Gang during their downtime between robbing banks in the early 1900s. And the man’s a musician. The Flugel Horn is one of the instruments the 73-year-old plays.
